Ottawa Fashion Show Tickets Giveaway

 Knock on Wood Communications asked if I would be interested in hosting a fashion show ticket giveaway on my blog and it sounded like such a fabulous event I couldn't resist! One lucky winner will receive 2 tickets to the Signature's Holiday Show opening night next Tuesday November 15th at 6:30 p.m. at the Ottawa Convention Centre where acclaimed Canadian fashion designer Adrian Wu will be launching his holiday collection. If you've seen Wu present at Ottawa Fashion Week you know that he's not just a designer, he's an entertainer (and only 21 years old to boot!)

Today is Tinfoil Tiaras’ one year anniversary and she wants to celebrate it in style! My first blog post was wordy and talked about my career goals and now a days I like to keep it short and sweet (except for those days I feel like rambling!) and focus on the outfits.  I started this blog as a creative outlet- to give myself something to do in my spare time.  A year later, I barely have any free time but I make sure that blogging is a priority because it’s not only my way of documenting my fashion hits and misses; it’s also my self-care for when life gets stressful!

To announce the winner of my blog giveaway, I created a short video complete with drumroll sound effects and wild flailing of my hands!

For the first day of the 30x30 challenge, I decided to wear my polka dotted yellow blouse with striped skirt for a look that although fun and sassy, was not entirely weather appropriate (it was raining cats and dogs!) Although when you work in a converted boiler room with temperamental air conditioning, you could wear a bikini to work and still be warm!

100 Followers Giveaway

When I started this blog back in August 2010, I was looking for a creative outlet and a pet project that would take me through the harsh Canadian winters when all you want to do is stay curled up in bed.  I didn't think that anyone (besides my family and friends out of a sense of obligation) would be interested in hearing what I have to say or seeing what I wear (because it sure ain't designer!) At the beginning, it felt more like a private journal but as people started following and comments started appearing, I felt like I was part of a community, a fashionable, intelligent and exciting slice of the blogosphere.  And from then on in I was hooked.  At work all I wanted to do was blog and read blogs (and often I did do) and I would get giddy thinking about what outfit I was going to wear next and what story I was going to share.

I am so thrilled and honoured to reach 100 101 followers (it's like I'm Cruella de Ville and you're my lovely dalmations...don't worry I won't make you into a fur coat!)
