robin egg blue

Shorts- H&M (thrifted); Blouse & Belt- Thrifted; Flats- Winners; Ring- H&M; Sunglasses- Aldo
I wish the weather in Ottawa was still hot enough to wear shorts but alas these photos were taken a couple of weeks ago on an impromptu bike ride by the river and I thought they'd work well with the remixing challenge.  I bought these high waisted H&M shorts (worn here, here and here) at a thrift store earlier this summer and I love how they elongate my (otherwise stumpy) legs! This silky blouse is one of my favourite thrift store finds, I picked it up for under $5 and although it's a bit baggy, when you tuck it in it's not as noticeable.  Summery? Maybe but that won't stop me from incorporating florals, colours and brights into my colder weather attire!

My Mum's previous kitchen in England was painted this robin egg blue and was so inviting that when I have a home with a kitchen bigger than a storage closet, I too would like a robin egg blue kitchen.

Today's challenge is to debut something new and although thrifted this fun blouse is new to me and to you!

A rare glimpse of the man behind the lens

Today I'm also linking up to Spunky Chateau's Thursdays are for Thrifters because I am a thrifting fanatic and it is very rare for me to wear an outfit without at least a secondhand accessory!

I'm still loving my bike and think it's an active girl's perfect accessory (heehee I am officially now considering myself active!)

I'm also linking up to Silverstyle's Trending Through the Decades with Jewel Tones challenge-check out her fashionable blog here!

  1. Those shorts are so great! I love 'em with the colorful blouse. It seems like this fall is going to be one of bright colors. Those flats - I need them!

  2. OK, so maybe it's too cold for shorts now, but that top is a definite keeper for fall. Look at all the red, orange, and purple--jewel tones are perfect for fall (think about the changing leaves on the trees).

Being an active girl is awesome! One of these days I'll learn how to ride a bike so I can add that to my list of active achievements.

  3. I think the top will add a perfect summery feel to a cold winter outfit! And I love how the blue of the door almost matches the remix badge!

  5. You've gotta transition those shorts to fall wear with some tights! They're such a pretty blue shade...

  6. ok I love the color of the door behind you and I love your outfit. Great mix of bold colors. I swear I am being inspired by your workout story. I jogged yesterday. Slowly. I want my clothing to fit better but mostly I want to feel better. Dawn Suitcase Vignettes xo

  16. Quick question - I know this is an older post you used for your Silvergirl linkup. When you edited the post to add the link to her site, does that republish this post in people's blog feed? I'm going to link up too and don't want to annoy people! I'm something I've been wondering about!
