Skirt- Spoof (worn like this); Blouse- Thrifted (worn like this); Cowgirl Hat, Jacket, Purse & Belt- Thrifted; Shoes- Walmart; Necklace- The Bay; Nail Polish- Charismatic & Peach Nectar by Revlon Whether I'm stressed, joyful, fiesty or tired, country music is my genre of choice. So when MadeLoud contacted me and asked if I would be willing to review their Country Music Mix Volume 1, I replied with a resounding yeehaw! (I actually didn't, but in retrospect am thinking that would have been the appropriate answer!) The thing I love about country music is it's authentic, even when the artist is singing about his dog or even a red solo cup it's heartfelt, honest and sometimes humorous. My favourite song on the album was "Too Much for Me" with its catchy lyrics and my least favourite song was "Daddy's Looking Down on You", the harmonies didn't seem to blend, but overall the country music album was a nice mixture of female and male voices, slow and fast tempos and sad and uplifting melodies. If you're a yeehaw fan like me, check out MadeLoud for country music downloads, and if you're not sold on the genre yet, maybe listening to some of the songs will convert you! |
This outfit is my combination of Friday night hoedown and GCB darling (one of my latest tv guilty pleasures)
" And later on this evening when I open up my wine, there's 2 bottles on the table and both of them are mine" * (Too Much for Me, Jason White from the Country Music Mix Volume 1)
* Story of my life and I'm not even single! ;)
that skirt is just so delightful and the deer necklace is too cute.

I could take or leave country music... but 2 bottles of wine, they're mine! Love the shoes, and was thinking: "I'd never be able to afford them" until I saw Walmart! Oddly, some of highest AND most comfortable heels are from Walmart!
ReplyDeleteI just bookmarked GCB and I'm going to check that out some time soon, so thanks for the tip ;) btw, I'm in love with your skirt and I totally like that deer necklace as well!

I love this outfit, the plaid shirt is awesome and I love it paired with the skirt! It's country flirty! I'm more of a crossover country fan, I love Carrie Underwood. I do get a good laugh out of Red Solo Cup though!
ReplyDeleteI'm absolutely loving this combination...it's this awesome pairing of feminine and western and vintage all at once! The flirty skirt looks great paired with your plaid...and those shoes are KILLER.

emily, i had no idea you were a country & western girl. grand skirt, shoes, & whole ensemble. i'm a rock n roll girl.
ReplyDeleteGreat outfit! I've recently started listening to country. I used to hate it because it was kind of expected from everyone in the small town I grew up in. I realized I was being too narrow-minded and decided to give it a try. I'm surprisingly enjoying it! You're totally right with the authenticity of the songs.
ReplyDeletecountry music has this wholesome positive feel which I like. Thanks for the review. And you have got the perfect outfit for this post, you look cute, I like the chiffon skirt... looks really pretty with the gingham shirt. I like the matching shoes and bag too!

You certainly look like you would fit into an episode of GCB -- not because you are a man-whoring psycho, but because of the Southern-inspired fashion.
