crazy for corduroy

Corduroy Pants, Top & Blouse- Thrifted; Necklace- Swapped; Boots- Spring; Nail Polish- Stormy by Revlon

Before I started blogging, I didn't own a single piece of corduroy clothing because they reminded me of elementary school style.  Now I find the material comfortable and a nice alternative to jeans, I even own corduroy shorts! Last week I wore my pale pink and brown cords to work and then forgot I had stored the photos so I'm showing off the ensembles for today's post.  Both looks are perfect for the warm weather we're experiencing in Ottawa today, looks like the weather gods heard my grumblings of yesterday and decided to do something about it! #hellospring :)

Do you find yourself gravitating towards styles you would have never considered before fashion blogging?

  2. I like both outfits, the first one is very cute and spring-like and the second one is so fancy, perfect to attend a party or something ;)
now, when it comes to styles then I'd have to say I used to kind of hate (faux) leather and (faux) fur items but now I love those :P

  3. I just bought my first pair of cords recently. I was also reminded of elementary school when I thought of cords. And for some reason, I was reminded of corduroy overalls. I love the cords paired with the lace top. It's such an unexpected combo.

  4. Well, I can say that now I found myself willing to buy corduroy pants! You look lovely, very beautiful! I liked the first style, with the nice necklace and amazing nails!
Then the one with the lace top, wow!!!! Gorgeous!
I forgot about corduroy after school, it's true... then thanks for reminding me! I will go to Asos to find a pair of nice corduroy pants!

  5. Hmm.. you're making me reconsider corduroy, something I loved in elementary school! I find that with blogging I take a lot of chances I would have just been too lazy to otherwise, so I feel I look more put together as a result.

  6. I love corduroy, especially in winter because it keeps me warmer!

Both of these outfits are so cute! I think I like the top one the best only because I'm obsessed with that color blue right now. I just love how you paired it with the patterned top and light colored cords! Lovely!!

  7. Oh my word, I love the corduroy! I didn't have any for the same reason, but since blogging I've been dying to have a really cute little corduroy skirt...just have to find it now. LOVE that crocheted sweater/button down combo, look absolutely darling on you.

  8. hey emily, your first outfit is all business. your second outfit screams going out. the lace, gold, copper, beading gorgeous-ness. i own corduroy skirts. i have considered different styles, just because i've been exposed to ideas i hadn't thought of before or seen. which is part of the fun, right? :)

  9. I don't actually own a pair of cords... haven't for a very long time, but only because I can't seem to find a pair that fits me right. Trouser shopping is the worst! :(

  10. You look beautiful. I love, love, love that blue top. I don't own a pair of cords. I need to go shopping soon. I feel like my current fashion options in my closet are severely limited.

  16. I LOVE your last look! So so gorgeous. I have a couple pairs of corduroy pants, but they aren't really stylish so I just wear them to work and stuff. My style has evolved immensely since blogging...but I don't know if it's directly BECAUSE of blogging, or it's just changing naturally with age!

  17. Corduroy is on my "do not buy" list. And it's too bad because I like the way corduroy looks, but it's too LOUD! My thighs rub together, and there's an audible swishy-swishy sound when I walk. I've got a few more pounds to lose before I can wear cords.

One of my daily joys is reading the lovely comments you leave. It may take a day or two (or three, depending on how hectic life gets!) but I will stop by your slice of the blogosphere soon! xo Emily
