boudoir

For our anniversary last year, I wrote my man a poem. For our two year celebration I decided to be a little more daring and do a boudoir photography session...

My photos were taken by Kosio Ognianov, photographer for Lilac Lingerie.  I helped to develop the boudoir photography packages at Lilac Lingerie (in my previous role as Marketing Coordinator) so I was thrilled to be able to test out the service! It was such an amazing morning, an hour of photography with 2 outfit changes (the vintage pin-up look shown here and a more risqué, menswear look for my man's eyes only!)

When we started the session, I was so nervous that my lips were trembling.  The photographer and stylist put me at ease and after only a few minutes, I was laughing and dancing as if I were at home in my own bedroom!

If you've never had boudoir photos taken before, I highly recommend it.  It's an empowering experience and at the end of it you'll have unforgettable memories & beautiful mementos. If you're in the Ottawa area, check out Lilac Lingerie (and who knows, I could even be your stylist for the day!)

  6. Oo la la! You look gorgeous. Believe it or not, I was a nude model for the art department when I was in college. It was the highest paying job on campus! It was fun and it gave me tons of body confidence.

  7. Va Va Voom. I love the first photo of you. It is so lovely and sweet. Your man is a lucky one...and I am not saying that to be weird. This is a great idea. I love the flower detail in your gorgeous hair. Dawn Suitcase Vignettes xo

  9. Hopefully your man's not reading the blog and spoiling the surprise. What a thoughtful gift, I hope you'll share his reaction! I really love the first photo. B&W makes everything sexier and more alluring, don't you think? It shows off your pretty profile, and the perfume bottle and hint of lace are quite alluring. Lovely job!

  13. Lucky Man.
I once convinced a friend of mine to take pictures "boudoir style" of me for Chris the first time I went away for a trip without him.... Just to give him a little something-something to remember me while I was gone. It was an experience for sure!!

I'm glad I did it though, and he still has the pictures in his bedside table which always makes me smile to think of it.

One of my daily joys is reading the lovely comments you leave. It may take a day or two (or three, depending on how hectic life gets!) but I will stop by your slice of the blogosphere soon! xo Emily
