Monday, my new favourite clothing day of the week thanks to two bird's Inspiration Monday challenges. I love being inspired by celebrities and finding ways to make the look my own. I wore a mid-calf skirt, which I'm usually hesitant about because of the awkward length with my 5'3" frame but Amanda from Something Old Something New gave some great tips on how to rock the mid-calf skirt! I've been dying to wear this colourful beaded skirt ever since I picked it up at my local Value Village for $2.50 so I was excited when I saw this photo of Elizabeth Olson (honestly I didn't even know she existed)!
Today is also Thanksgiving Day for us Canucks and I had a delicious Thanksgiving meal at my man's sister's house yesterday so I'm pleasantly stuffed on all the trimmings (I subsituted the turkey for extra stuffing and corn bread!) This year I have plenty to give thanks for including my supportive partner; my fun friends; my loving family; my health and my adorable cats (y'all know I had to throw that in there!)
Last year my post was all about my vegetarian Thanksgiving. {saving a turkey and gobbling veggies}
Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow Canadians and may you take the time to give thanks for everything you've been blessed with this year!
that is a lovely outfit :) beautiful skirt and very cool accessories too, especially your necklace!
ReplyDeleteI saw this photo too and fell in love with the look! You did a great job! The yellow belt really pops. Happy Thanksgiving! Heather
ReplyDeletehappy thanksgiving! i love vegetarian thanksgiving, as well. stuffing and mashed potatoes are two of my favorite foods! i love this skirt on you, and i am in love with that necklace!
ReplyDeleteSee, we'd be perfect Thanksgiving partners. I hate stuffing and corn bread, but love turkey.
ReplyDeleteI too am hesitant about mid-calf length skirts, but I do love them with heels!
Happy Thanksgiving!!!! Love the way you styled the midi skirt - they can be tricky to pull off but it looks great on you.

very sweet outfit, the midi skirt looks great on you! I'm also not confident about midi skirts cuz of my height. The yellow belt is such a great highlight. I love the rings, too especially the yellow one!

GORGEOUS outfit! I love the skirt! The whole outfit kinda has a 90s vibe to it, and you know how I love my 90s.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you had a nice holiday and have so many things to be thankful for. :)
crackin Norks !
ReplyDeleteWe have more things in common than the Masters! Same height! And I'm also vegetarian!
ReplyDeleteYou look sooo lovely! I loved the skirt, the shoes, the accessories and the nails!
You are so right, one of these days I went to a dinner party and people were complaining about "this and that". I looked at all of them and said "I think we are all so privileged". Then one agreed and said "she's right, we should be counting our blessings, instead of nagging!"
I know I'm still very sad for my parents, but they did so much in their lives, to make sure their children would have a great future. I couldn't be more grateful to them (why do I always end up crying after writing about blessings?)
Happy Thanksgiving, you look gorgeous!
LOVE this look!
ReplyDeleteI love the yellow belt and the floral skirt! You nails look fabulous! Love the color!
ReplyDeleteI really love how you wore this midi. And your rings and nail polish are FAB as well. Fun fact: Elizabeth and James, the Olson twins clothing line, is named after that sister in the pic and their brother, James. You probably already knew that, but just in case....
ReplyDeleteHappy Tofurkey day!!
xoxo,
Tracy
Love your skirt! It looks great on you! Got to admit I had no idea who Elizabeth Olsen was either but I think you did a great job with this look. That necklace is pretty awesome too.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving! Who needs turkey when there's cornbread? Yum, I could eat a whole pan of cornbread all by myself. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the close-up photo of all your accessories--the rings, the belt, the necklace, the bracelets. Everything is so different but they all work together.
Way to go with the IM...it has become my favorite fashion day also!! Love the way you wore the midi---doesn't make you look shorter at all:-) Happy Thanksgiving!
