bows from head to toes

Skirt- Smart Set; Blouse, Ring, Bow, Purse & Heels- Thrifted

No I haven't adopted a secret identity, it's just one of those days when the outfit is working but the face and hair are not (and I thought I'd spare you the horror!) I wish I had a better camera that would accurately depict the vibrant colours of this blouse and the pattern mixing but you'll just have to trust me when I say this outfit is much more exciting in person!  I love how easy breezy this skirt is but due to neglect it was last worn in June like this.  The last time I wore this skirt, I had just joined the gym which was a foreign concept to me as I hated the word 'exercise' let alone what it entailed.  Now, almost three months ago I am happy to say I am a gym addict, participating in group exercise classes 3-5 times a week as well as going for bike rides and long walks around my neighbourhood! I never thought I'd be the kind of person who would feel antsy if they missed a day at the gym but so far I'm happy with the results and am even considering getting my Zumba instructor certification! So if I (the gal who considered walking around the mall exercise) can become a gym convert, I'm convinced that anyone can!

My favourite part about this outfit? The oversized black bow pin which I thrifted from this dress.  The bow is living proof of how accessories can take a look from drab to fab!

Today's challenge is to restyle a forgotten piece and this skirt and these shoes have been neglected as of late!

  1. I love that giant bow! What a great accessory to add to this look. And I totally know what you mean about the gym - I work out 4-5 days a week and am really bummed out that my schedule is too crazy this term to allow me to take a class.

  9. You look beautiful. I love the bow pin and the bows on your shoes. You should go for it and become a Zumba instructor! I used to teach aerobics in college, and it's a lot of fun (and another source of income). But if you get certified, you have to post a video of yourself doing your best Zumba moves! :)

  12. Love the pattern mix! You've got a great eye for it. The satin shoes are too cute with those bows. You got some mighty fine shoes if you ask me! Shouldn't let them languish unworn.

One of my daily joys is reading the lovely comments you leave. It may take a day or two (or three, depending on how hectic life gets!) but I will stop by your slice of the blogosphere soon! xo Emily
