Tuesday during my lunch hour I took the plunge. No I didn't get a new tattoo or buy a motorcyle (although both on my bucket list)... I joined the gym. Now this may not seem like a big deal to you but to me, it's huge. I've never belonged to a gym mostly because I'm scared of long term payment committments but also because I hate exercising. That is I did hate exercising until I started Zumba classes. For those of you who don't know what Zumba is it's the most fun you will ever have while sweating (trust me!) Think high energy music combined with latin ,african, bollywood and hip hop dance moves! I've been taking Zumba through the city but it doesn't run throughout the summer so I decided it was high time to join the gym so I can sweat it out whenever I feel like it!
Today was going to be my first class at the new gym and I had carefully planned my work day around that one hour. I got to the gym, changed into my workout clothes and suddenly realized I had only packed one sneaker....one sneaker! Not wanting to do a high cardio workout in barefeet, flipflops or hopping on one sneakered foot, I guess I will have to
take two tomorrow (literally and figuratively!)

Love the blouse - beautiful!
ReplyDeleteNot a big fan of gyms, though I might have to resign myself in joining one if I want to get in tip top bikini shape for my Vegas trip in August!

I love that cat photo! And I really like the red blouse juxtaposed with that skirt - the color/pattern combo is so great! Good luck with gym, take 2.

Greta look hun. You look fabulous.
ReplyDeleteI don't like the gym but now that the weather is nice I'll be doing more activities outdoors. Biking (pedal & motor), rollerblading, long boarding and hikes.
Also, since you mentioned tattoos... I'm getting one on June 25th wooohooo :) So excited.
PS: Do you think you subconsciously left out one of your shoes?!
ReplyDeleteHaha heart…I've done things like that like forgetting to pack socks on Cardio day or worse forgetting to pack a piece of clothing for work because I go to the gym in the AM. But I'm glad you've taken the plunge…your body will thank you for it :)
ReplyDeleteAnd lovely Skirt from Smart Set :)
Great outfit. I like the color on you and the way you paired the outfit w/silver heels.
ReplyDeleteBTW I hate exercising, but I love the way I feel stronger after doing it. I have the a typical love/hate relationship with it.

How fun! I joined a gym a couple of years ago and went religiously for a few months, and then I stopped. But I didn't cancel my membership, so I probably ended up paying at least $500 for nothing until I finally remembered to cancel, where they charged me an additional fee for cancelling. :| No bueno. So now I work out in my basement (we have a treadmill and an elliptical, along with a few other goodies) or outside. It actually works better for me. That being said, I wouldn't mind trying this Zumba stuff if given the chance... :)
ReplyDeleteI can't bring myself to drive to the gym. I do workout videos at home and I have a Zumba "game" for the Wii. You're taking this much more in stride than I would. I would be SO angry about that darn shoe!
ReplyDeleteI love that skirt on you!!! You look awesome.
Come take a look inside A Working Mom's Closet
Me too! I'm a crazy cat lady. I don't fee as crazy knowing I'm not the only one.
ReplyDeleteLove that shirt and skirt together. Great outfit.

Great skirt! Adorable cats!
ReplyDeleteI hated the gym when I started going, but after a couple weeks of going religiously, you reallt start to look forward to it! And even miss it if you don't go!! But those first couple weeks are torture... you can do it!!

I love those shoes. While I'm not a fan of the gym I do want to join a local one. I think some classes would really whip me into shape.
ReplyDeletei've never been to a gym. public exercise intimidates me.
ReplyDeletei love your patterned skirt and i LOVE that you went with a bright red top - such a nice combo.
Chic on the Cheap

ReplyDeleteoh i totally agree with you! zumba is soo much fun! i attended a zumba class in LA last month and wow, sweating has never felt so good..the steps are easy to follow (well not that easy but you get used to it once you start grooving to the music..)and yes, you do sweat a lot..at first it was a bit fast but it was really cool..too bad they don't have zumba in the philippines..sigh..nice post!

ReplyDeleteEveryone knows that I live at the gym.
ReplyDeleteI love Zumba. It is seriously the most fun workout ever.
I'm a huge fan of dancing, and I take dance classes, so Zumba is perfect for me.
