stress & lace

CAUTION: Lots of complaining, ranting and feeling sorry for myself in this post! :)

Do you ever have one of those days where so many things go wrong, you feel like your life is scripted for a low budget comedy show? Today was one of those days and so as not to lull you into slumber, here is the Cole's notes version (which embrassingly enough I had to use to get through Hamlet in High School!)

-woke up with a killer headache (which has been happening a lot due to the fact that my office cubicle is in a converted boiler room with engine jet sound effects...or maybe due to the fact that I drank a few glasses of red wine before bed...)

-had to run to the post office to ship a priority package (needs to get to Toronto by tomorrow!) only to find out that Canada Post is on strike so my $25 was in vain and my deadline is kaput.

-was running late for a meeting downtown and didn't take into account traffic, one-way stops or construction (doh!) so had to park in an underground valet service.

-because I was running late for the meeting, I decided to literally run across the city in my yellow pumps and was sweating and huffing and puffing throughout the duration of the meeting.

-and the worst part of my day (but the most funny looking back on it), I couldn't remember where I parked my car, not thinking that there would be dozens of identical looking lots throughout the city.  No joke, I spent 40 minutes pacing around the city, asking tourists to see their map, stopping people on the street to ask for directions and visiting 4 different lots before I finally found the one I parked in.  And then I realized I only had $8 and the valet parking was $10.50...and they only accepted cash.  Thank goodness I can be charming when I need to be!

I forgot to mention that I went to get a piece of cheese pizza for lunch but they only had meat and vegetarian and since I'm a vegetarian who hates most veggies I had to choke down a green olive and mushroom infested slice (bleck!)

Oh and one last thing (I promise).  I was planning to exercise after work and even packed my gym bag but guess who forgot to pack their sneakers? (I didn't even manage to bring one this time!) But I am so dedicated, I came home and then drove back to the gym so as not to miss my workout!

  1. Damn, that's one hell of a crappy day. I think you need to end it like you ended the previous day...with a glass (or two) of wine! And, on the plus side, I totally love your pants - those are so cute!

  15. You could write a book about your day! It sounds awful. I'm really sorry.

I'm also a vegetarian who doesn't like most veggies - I couldn't handle the mushrooms! Ew fungus!

You do look adorable though. And kudos to you for getting your workout in anyway! That's inspiring!

    On the plus side:

    - You are lucky enough to own pumps that you CAN run around half the city in and not break an ankle.
    - Your car was not stolen.
    - You saved $1.50!
    - You look gorgeous.
