scarf sunday {1}

Besides owning a lot of nail polish (es?) and dresses, I am also the proud owner of a vast scarf collection.  Mostly thrifted or bought from street vendors in Europe, I thought it would be fun to add a Scarf Sunday feature so that I can get more use out of them.  Great for layering or adding a pop of colour to any outfit, they keep you warm in the winter and looking stylish in the summer months (although best to switch from fleece to silk to avoid severe sweating!)

These pictures were taken along the Ottawa River, near Westboro beach, a 30 minute walk from my place.  As much as I love living in the city, it's good to take a break and spend time with nature, listening to the water, enjoying the view and taking a break from technology.  Unfortunately my lovely walk was cut short due to a swarm of angry bugs headed my way but hey that's nature (and the reason why I'm not a fan of camping!)

  3. I'm a huge fan of vast scarf collections - there is no better accessory for travel, and they can make even the plainest of outfits seem extravagant and well styled.

  4. You look so sweet and beautiful! I love the surroundings! And no, camping is not vacation in my book!! (the word vacation is combined in my head with 5 star hotels - which I can't afford - so I just don't do vacation!!! Good thing I live by the sea though!). Kisses :)

  7. Lovely pictures dear! I'm building up my scarf collection and am unfortunately addicted to vintage Hermes scarves!

  8. I really love this outfit. I have tons of different nail polish colors too. But I hardly ever change the color of my nails. Such a shame but I'm just too lazy. Scarves, on the other hand, that's easy to do every day. No effort. I know, I'm aware of my lazy ways.

    You look amazing. As always. PS)you are in my sidebar now. I hope that's ok.

    I hate camping as well. But it's because I love hotels. LOVE them.

    xoxo,
    Tracy

  12. I was beginning to think I was the only one who didn't like camping. Glad to hear I'm not alone! Like, no I will not go and lay on the cold ground where there are TONS of bugs, creepy crawlies, bears, human creepers even. No thank you. Why?

    Anyway. Rant over. I like your outfit and I enjoy the new idea for a feature! How many scarves do you think you have? I have at least 60...and I feel like a freak.

One of my daily joys is reading the lovely comments you leave. It may take a day or two (or three, depending on how hectic life gets!) but I will stop by your slice of the blogosphere soon! xo Emily
