fifty three dresses

53 dresses? 53 dresses! I was organizing my closet and out of curiosity decided to count how many dresses I own- and I own 53!!! I could almost go two months wearing a different dress every day (mind you I'm including gowns which might look a bit silly wearing to the office but you get the point).  I think this is an outrageous number of dresses to own unless you're frequenting the red carper (which I am clearly not) so I have self imposed a dress shopping ban.  I will not buy myself a dress for at least two months and I will start wearing my dresses more often, to give them a sense of purpose.

Dress- Urban Outfitters; Tights & Necklace- Smart Set; Blazer- Gap; Boots & Purse- Thrifted;

Tunic Dress- Marc by Marc Jacobs - courtesy of A Working Mom's Closet Shopbop giveaway- thanks so much- I can't wait to wear this dress when the snow is gone :)

What item do you own a crazy number of? (I won't even tell you how many pairs of shoes I own...)

  1. I hear ya! My girlfriends were teasing me about how many boots I own. I went home and counted and it was in the 20s. That's just boots! I'm sure I own a lot of dresses too. But I love 'em! I'm excited to see you wear your dresses. I bet they're lovely! Like this one. Great colors. And that chain necklace is fab!

  4. I'm not surprised. We all tend to buy things and forget about what's already in our closet. It's prudent to go in there and pull out stuff we've been neglecting.

  5. Wow - that is a lot of dresses! I find it is kindof crazy to do a count up of all the items you have, I did that when I cleaned my closet last and was shocked at how many dresses and skirts I had. I ended up giving some of them away actually!

  11. Haha! I'm sure I own a lot. I have almost 60 scarves I think? And too many shoes as well (how many do you have? I'll tell you mine if you tell me yours!).

    It's weird because I don't even see you in dresses that much! Ha. Can't wait to see more. :)

One of my daily joys is reading the lovely comments you leave. It may take a day or two (or three, depending on how hectic life gets!) but I will stop by your slice of the blogosphere soon! xo Emily
