re-mixed & re-styled

My blogger friend Brett from Silvergirl and I have a few things in common.  A love of country music, bargain hunting and dresses from the GAP.  Not just any old dress from the GAP but the exact same dress! (hers in grey, mine in black).  We thought it would be fun to do a combined post to show how different styling can completely change the look of the dress. Brett looks elegant and chic with her red accessories and I added a hat and colourful scarf belt for an urban twist.

I loved how Brett's outfit popped against the brick wall so I copied her backdrop!

Dress- GAP; Hat- Alfred Sung for Zellers; Scarf (worn as belt)- Thrifted; Heels- Suzy Shier

Brett is not only a fabulous dresser but an entrepreneur as well! She owns a monogramming company called Silver Needle Designs  -perfect gifts for birthdays, graduations or just because! Pop by her blog for her OOTD and my personal favourite, her Awkward & Awesome Thursday posts!

  1. Isn't Brett the best? I love her too! You both look amazing in this dress. And it looks totally different on each of you. Brett with the red accents on the grey is brilliant. And your hat and scarf as a belt combo is clearly genius!

  6. This is such a fun post and it's great to see how you've each put your own unique spin on the dress. Instyle does a similar feature each month and seeing as I haven't yet got my June issue this is tiding me over! I'm off to check out Brett's blog now.

One of my daily joys is reading the lovely comments you leave. It may take a day or two (or three, depending on how hectic life gets!) but I will stop by your slice of the blogosphere soon! xo Emily
