accessory addict {jewellery}

{Bracelet- Macy's}
As a self-professed accessory addict, I take great delight in ornamenting my outfits with baubles, belts, shoes, scarves & whatever else I can think of that will add extra pizazz to my ensemble. As much joy as I get from shopping from clothes, I get 10x the excitement from buying a new piece of jewellery or a funky belt.  The easiest way to take a look from drab to fab is to accessorize (and you can never over accessorize in my accessory addicted opinion!)

So without further adieu, welcome to my new feature here on Tinfoil Tiaras, all about my love for accessories.  First up, my most dangerous kryptonite, jewellery

I love accessories so much that I often build my whole outfit around them, I will start with a great patterned scarf or a statement piece of jewellery and I will incorporate similar colours and styles into the rest of my ensemble.

If you don't own enough necklaces to cover the walls or enough earrings to wear a different pair every day for months on end (such as found in my jewellery collection), the easiest way to pull an outfit together is with nail polish.  I change up my polish every 2-3 days (not only because I find it therapeutic and use it as a method of self care), but because I gravitate towards clothing that works well with my nail colour du jour.  I'm also a cyclical polish wearer, changing up my hues according to the season.  As we're now in spring I will wear more pastel colours and in summer I choose neons and brights.

  2. Ditto what Shybiker said, lovely, lovely pieces. I do have tons of necklaces hanging on the wall; I have a serious weakness for them :) I wish I enjoyed painting my nails, but I've never gotten really good at it, usually wrecking one nail some way or 'nother.

  3. Hi Emily!

    Yay, now I can "speak" out" here! How much fun... Because like I told you, I have been reading you for a long time already. I love how you play away with accessories. And you are the best thrift store savvy princess I know on the Net. I am too a strong believer in accessories. They are what makes the outfit come alive and "your personal thing". They renew old frocks... they do magic!

    It's really a shame that we can't meet the up-coming weekend, but hopefully I'll come back soon. I love to travel, and it's not that far from Quebec City.

  13. Oh my gosh I'm a self-professed accessory addict too! The thrill of picking up a fabulous necklace or bracelet cannot be beat by a dress purchase :P Love ALL your pieces by the way, especially that Macy's bracelet. Have you ever visited The Sassy Beading Co. in the market by the way? CJ and I stopped there this weekend and made our own bracelets. As a jewelry gal, I think you would totally love it there!

  14. Amaaaazing accessories! My favorite pieces are always the pearly ones - so, the pearl necklaces and the turquoise pendant! But in fact I loved every item you showed! As for me, pearls, always, they are the things that I love for my accessories!

  16. Wow, that gold flower ring is to die for! But you know which of your accessories I like best? Your nails! Really, your nails are beautiful and they really do complement your outfits. Have you done a post about your nail care routine?

  17. Will you do a post on your love of colour? That's one of the things that really comes to mind when I think of your style.
    The gold ring is absolutely amazing but all these pieces have such interesting shapes and textures. I find I spend more time looking at your outfits than most bloggers because I want to make sure I take in all the accessorizing! LOVE IT

One of my daily joys is reading the lovely comments you leave. It may take a day or two (or three, depending on how hectic life gets!) but I will stop by your slice of the blogosphere soon! xo Emily
