patterned blazer & a tinfoil tiara

Blazer (worn like this this); Dress, Rings & Belt- Thrifted; Necklace- Gifted (from my Dad); Nail Polish- Cherries in the Snow by Revlon
This weekend, my man and I left our cocoon of winter hibernation just long enough to take these photos at a nearby worn down shed.  I wanted new pictures for my about me page & twitter display pic and so I unearthed my tinfoil tiara, dressed in my favourite thrifted blazer and braved the cold.

My weekend was spent attending a local theatre festival which I look forward to every year.  This year I was somewhat disappointed with the selection, out of the 3 plays I saw I adored one of them; while the second involved far too much interpretive dance for my liking and the third was just plain awful (and I'm no theatre snob!)

My friend and I made up for the poor play by drinking strong cocktails, sharing a cheese tray and chatting at a local bar (there's nothing the c x 3 can't cure!)

Do you enjoy live theatre?

  1. I love theatre! When I lived in Winnipeg I volunteered at the Fringe Fest and it was amazing. I saw 12-14 shows and some were incredible, while others were so bad - so so bad. The worst one? About a robot with a human heart, searching for its "mother". Papier maché, dancing and bad animation was involved. But it was comical nonetheless in its terribleness!

  2. You are so darn cute! Love your tinfoil tiara :) I am not much of a theatre fan, but I did see Wicked and it definitely changed my perspective of it. Your blazer is beautiful. Heather

  3. Love this look - the pretty floral blazer is awesome! And I love your tinfoil tiara! Cute! I also agree there's nothing the "Three C's" can't fix!

I do like live theatre, but I haven't had a chance to go to much in the last few years. I'll fix that one of these days!

  4. your look adorable. I haven't gone to a play in a long time

  5. Well Emily these will be too cute for both of your social media outlets! I love that dress and that blazer is gorgeous. I love live theater! Wish there was more of it in New Orleans. Fabulous post doll.

  7. nope, I just don't dig theatre at all. not my thing. though it seems like everyone else likes it.
anyway, what a great idea for those photos! I like the backdrop, it goes so well with your tinfoil tiara! and what a lovely ensemble! that jacket, your beautiful necklace, the overall look. I like it!

  19. So glad that you got to wear one of your Christmas gifts, daughter. As you know, I love bargain shopping too, and I really thought that necklace would fit your style and I believe it does nicely. I haven't seen the kimono yet, though!

One of my daily joys is reading the lovely comments you leave. It may take a day or two (or three, depending on how hectic life gets!) but I will stop by your slice of the blogosphere soon! xo Emily
