Skirt, Shoes & Necklace- Thrifted; Jacket- Gifted (from my Mum); Top- Spoof (Boutique in Toronto); Nail Polish- Storm by Joe Fresh |
After yesterday's aggravations, the mood gods took pity on me and gave me a happy day. Sure, I still worked longer hours than I would have liked to and I had to skip my workout because e-mails were calling my name but here are some of the things that made me smile today:
- Mr. Marley has really embraced the outdoors (after 7 years of being indoor only) and after getting micro-chipped and collared he is now foot loose and fancy free and will prowl the neighbourhood for hours on end, only returning home for food (and I like to think cuddles as well!)
- My man and I spent date night at a vegan cooking class entitled Let Food be thy Medicine (through Credible Edibles), and made roasted broccoli with Brazil nut pesto, 'cream' of mushroom soup, sunflower seed and pinto been loaf & red velvet cake made from beets, apple sauce and cocoa. Mmm Mmm!
-Upon noticing my sock bun, one of the cooking class participants asked if I was Tinfoil Tiaras because she recognized the hairstyle from my twitter account and says she follows along and has made note of different restaurants I tweet about (how cool is that!)
- And drumroll please... thanks to all your support I am a finalist for the Place d'Orleans vlogger search!!! I will be participating in the live shop off and haul video on Sunday where they'll provide us with $200 in mall gift cards and we'll have 3 hours to shop the stores and then share our finds. The vlogger winner will be announced at this time, wish me luck!
Today I'm linking up to Coffee & Cardigan's Thrifter Thursday My abstract dotted skirt is a find that I thrifted for $2 at a Salvation Army sale and I embellished these second-hand shoes by hot-gluing vintage earrings to them!
CUTE CAT! And shoes, and necklace! And also through a technicality, I will also be there on Sunday! See you then!!! :)
ReplyDeleteLove the colors in this outfit. What a fun skirt! I need to try that sock bun look. I've seen tutorials on it, but haven't made an attempt. Your kitty is adorable :)
ReplyDeletewow, so many exciting news at once! I'm happy for you and I wish you all the luck of course.
ReplyDeletebtw, again I noticed how big your cat looks! is he actually heavy or I'm simply seeing things that aren't there, haha?

Best of luck in the contest! You will kick butt :) Mr. Marley is too cute.
ReplyDeleteI'm torn. I don't know which I envy the most: your attractive fashion sense, your delicious culinary adventure, your newly-confirmed celebrity or your exciting competition success. Oh well, I guess I'll just envy all of them!
ReplyDeleteGoodness, I am so exciting to hear that the week turned around for you! Getting recognized by a reader, making it into the top ten in the Vlogger contest, and enjoying some awesome food with the boy? Sounds like a good way to end the week. Congratulations! Loving the abstract skirt and bright jacket! Hope you guys have a happy weekend!

Oh Emily you are so crafy with your DIY shoes. That skirt is so fun and a total steal for a toonie. Way to go. I love how the print plays off the buttons on your jacket, which is a piece I think I've raved about before. I can picture the print on the skirt as a set of dinner plates (which I would want to own)...can you?
ReplyDeleteOh my that vegan cooking class sounds amazing! Love reading about your happy days. I think you just might be celebrity status now, lol Love the outfit, have a great weekend dear. xx /Madison

ReplyDeleteSo excited to see your competition haul - good luck!
I'm trying really hard to keep six-month kitten Sasha Jane inside (bonus from my blogger meetup with Megan Mae); she doesn't seem to mind so far.
Best of luck Emily! Terrific outfit. It's striking on you. Hooray for new recipes, & cat adventures. :)
