in denial

Dress- Gifted; Cardigan, Necklace & Shoes- Thrifted; Ring- Sears
In two weeks time it is officially fall but for now I'm living in my bubble of denial where the sunny days are long and warm.  I'm going to continue wearing white, pastels & open toed shoes until the weather forces me to change my wardrobe.  There's something about bare legs, light sweaters and visible toes that makes me smile just a little bit wider.  The weather forecasters have said that we can expect warmer than usual fall temperatues this year in Ottawa so I'm not hauling out the boots & jackets just yet! Sorry fall, it's not your fault, your coloured leaves and crisp air aren't the problem, it's your successor Mr. Canadian Winter that I truly despise.  And I suppose poor autumn that your presence just reminds me that the worst is yet to come!

Are you dreading or looking forward to fall?

  2. Looking forward to it! If I had my way, we would have three seasons that are each four months long...and winter wouldn't be one them! :)

  3. Your necklace is great! Loving the dress too, what a nice dress to have gifted to you :) I am with you. Love fall but not winter so I would like to hold on to summer just a little longer. Heather

  4. As long as it stays above 75, it's still summer in my mind. I like to base my wardrobe on the temperature rather than the month, so I am with you in keeping out the summery dresses and open toed shoes.

  7. Such a cute dress. I'm looking forward to fall. For the cooler temps but winter can hold off. We can no longer where open toe to work. Even tho it still in the 80's here :(

  8. I'm looking forward to fall, but I'm dreading winter. If it would just skip straight from fall to spring that would be great!! Keep on rocking those florals and light colors, maybe it will stay warm :)

  10. Great dress - I like the color, print and cut (full skirts are so pretty). The weather here is pretty mild year-round, but I'm looking forward to it being just a little cooler ...

  11. This dress is soooo cute! I'm pretty excited for fall, myself. The summer here in Ohio has had WAY too many days that were above 90 degrees.

  13. i absolutely love fall, but only the "early" fall. I hate when it gets super cold and dreary because that's when I'm reminded of winter. But I can definitely understand wanting to push your summer wardrobe as much as possible. Us Canadians won't see weather like this until next May or June likely ;)

  16. I spend pretty much all year looking forward to fall so I am very happy with this time of year - but you keep hanging onto summer for as long as you want! Also, you look just gorgeous in this dress - it's really lovely on you.

  17. Even though I want it to arrive so bad, it's hard to believe that fall is right around the corner. I love this outfit just because it denies the fact. The floral dress and pink cardigan are adorable and feminine. So pretty! Hope you have a wonderful weekend, Emily!

  18. Emily, I love the shape of this dress on you. It's so retro, especially with that sweet cardigan. I like that your straight hair and modern accessories keeps things fresh and modern.

One of my daily joys is reading the lovely comments you leave. It may take a day or two (or three, depending on how hectic life gets!) but I will stop by your slice of the blogosphere soon! xo Emily
