Shoes- Urban Outfitters; Dress- Loft; Belt, Necklace & Bracelet- Thrifted; Glasses- Gucci |
I am usually very frugal when it comes to shoes and therefore most of my collection is thrifted. However since I've been having thrifted shoe problems lately, I thought I deserved a treat. On our way to see the musical Wicked, a girl friend and I stopped at Urban Outfitters for a quick browse. And that's when I laid eyes on these beauties. The price tag ($69- eeek!) scared me but I knew they had to be mine, with all those colours, they're versatile plus they're closed toed so I can wear them throughout autumn too (when I feel guilty about indulgent purchases, practical justifications make me feel better!) My only concern was that they would be leather or even real snakeskin (which I believe to be cruel and unnecessary with all the imitation fakes these days) but the animal advocate/sales associate ensured we they were 100% man-made material so I can proudly say no snakes were harmed in the wearing of these fabbity-fab shoes! (can you tell I'm in love with them?)
When I don't know what to wear, this orangey-red dress I bought at Loft in San Diego for under $20 is my go-to frock. I've styled it with fishnets, a cape & a bauble necklace and I never grow tired of its simple style and bright hue.

In fact I love these faux snakeskin talon hauts so much I wore them twice this week- a more dressy approach for working with clients and then today for a casual Friday look.
I give you permission to be indulgent and splurge at least once this weekend, you know you deserve it! :)
Love the shoes - they're fabulous! I too am all about practical justifications for expensive clothes. Sometimes, when I really love something, I start calculating the "per wear" cost. It always helps me feel better about introducing the item to my closet! ha
ReplyDeletethose shoes are stellar! :) i like both outfits. your nails are identical to the dress aren't they?
ReplyDeleteThose shoes are amazing! I love them in both outfits; it's nice that they're so versatile. You'll totally get your money's worth with those!
ReplyDeleteHappy Weekend!
Those are pretty fabulous (and being cruelty free makes them even more so) and they definitely seem versatile. I saw good purchase! Also, I really love your glass frames.

Those shoes are DE BOMB. Knowing me, I'd wear them every single day...and to bed :) That coral Loft dress looks great on you. I have trouble styling Loft's solid jersey-type dresses, I think in part due to my age, and in part due to having no real curves.
ReplyDeleteI'm still studying upon your Gucci frames and will likely be using them for inspiration when picking out new glasses frames later this year.
Thank you for the permission! Love the shoes. And the other great clothes. You select really nice things.
ReplyDeleteAwesome shoes! They are seriously amazing and I am totally drooling!! I think they will look great with everything too! Can you tell I am uber jealous?

Emily, I love them, they're so chic & stylish and I love how you justify your splurge I do the same thing ;-)
ReplyDeleteI actually bought last weekend a pair or Urban Outfitters purplelish/fuschia color pumps @ Plato's (teen's consingment store) for only $12 and girl I was thrilled :-)
Love both of these outfits! Those shoes are amazing!!
ReplyDeleteThose shoes are totally fabulous, I'm so glad you treated yourself! Love them paired with the red/orange dress and yellow belt. The trousers in the second look are adorable too!
ReplyDeleteThose shoes are magnificent! And Urban Outfitters?? I didn't know they HAD shoes. Great buy Emily.
ReplyDeleteEmily, I love them! I think the colors on the shoe are super and definitely something you don't see everyday! :)
