pink & purple

Top- Marshalls; Skirt, Bracelets, Clutch & Shoes- Thrifted; Necklace- E-bay

If I had to pick a favourite colour combination it would probably have to be pink & purple- feminine and sassy! Here are two outfits I wore to work this week with these girly hues.

Skirt (worn like this), Top, Scarf , Belt& Bangles- Thrifted; Shoes- Suzy Shier; Rose Bracelet- Castellammare Designs

One of my close friends is my unique date night gal.  Some of the fun activities we've done together include an art gallery walking tour, indie short play festival, roller derby, firefighter calendar launch party, children directed film festival & the list goes on and on! We both really wanted to see the musical Wicked which is currently touring in Ottawa so last night we showed up at the box office 2 hours early to put our names into the discounted ticket lottery.  Lo and behold we won and only had to pay $25 for incredible seats that retailed at $125! We had a homemade vegan and gluten free picnic (yeah we're granola) in a beautiful park before being introduced to the magical story of Wicked Witch of the West (named Elphaba who turns out to be an animal rights activist so of course I was a fan!)  If you ever have the chance to see Wicked, you won't regret it.  It gave me goosebumps and I can't get the song Defying Gravity out of my head!

I told you the braids would make another appearance soon!

  5. You KNOW this is my favorite color-combination. You look fab, buddy.

And Wicked! What a great show. When it started here in NYC long ago, nobody gave it any chance to succeed, but it did and defied expectations. The audience, of course, is usually 99% female but there's nothing wrong with that.

One of my frequent dreams is that you and I get to do something like this together. I envy your friend.

  9. I like pink and purple, too! Before I was a blogger (in fact, before I knew about fashion blogging) I never would have done it, but once a very very long time ago I saw pink and purple on What I Wore, and then it was all kinds of colors together after that :) Also, can't believe you got to see Wicked for $25! Lucky!

  10. I like both looks and I can't even decide which one is my favourite.. maybe the first one because of the colourful stripes and nude shoes. though the second one includes this wonderful scarf which I love! an impossible decision, I guess :P

One of my daily joys is reading the lovely comments you leave. It may take a day or two (or three, depending on how hectic life gets!) but I will stop by your slice of the blogosphere soon! xo Emily
