construction zone

Blazer- Marshalls (worn like this); Top (worn like this)- Spoof; Capris (worn like this); Shoes, Necklace & Bracelet- Thrifted; Ring- Gifted from my Mum; Sunglasses- Aldo
I'm very excited because in less than a week, the man and I take ownership of our new house!!! I can't wait to upgrade our space from a one bedroom condo and I figure since we've gotten along so well (minus a few human & feline cat fights) in such a small space, pas de problème in our new abode! We even bought walky talkies for communication purposes since the house is so big (and because we're dorks) so now I can page him to bring me a glass of water in bed (or more likely wine), over and out!

Maybe I spoke too soon because there is one grand problème and that is that the street we're moving to is currently under water and sewage construction (see photographic evidence) until at least spring 2013.  Good thing I already sleep with ear plugs, bring on the noise! (just not on a weekend morning s'il vous plaît!) And if you must wake me up on my days off, please ensure that only the cutest construction workers are stationed outside my house- that will make the noise more bearable!
Have you ever had to live in a noisy environment? How did you deal with it?

  3. Love this outfit! The blazer is adorable and the shirt is really nice too. Also love that necklace.

I love your walkie talkie idea! Too funny!

My husband lived in an apartment for the year before we got married and the people that lived above him vacuumed every single day. Every day. At various times of the day. It was fabulous. :P

  4. Love the bright colors you put together today. So cute! And I love the ruffled white top.

Walkie Talkies are such a cute idea. I bet that will be fun. As far as loud environments, when I moved into my current apartment, I never expected it to be so loud. Ear plugs help wonders and so does running a fan or white noise maker. I also got a light over-the-counter sleep aide to help on those nights I REALLY needed. But after a year of living where I do, I really adjusted to the noise levels. Best of luck!

  7. How exciting, you know, minus the construction. I've actually lived within a block of railroad tracks before and you just get used to it after awhile. At least I did.

Love this color combination; coral is gorgeous on you.

  8. Oh no... I'm not good with noisy neighborhoods! We have a neighbor with a dog and sometimes it gets to barking in the evenings. The Hubs has to go outside and shine a flashlight in its eyes to get it to stop. =/

I love this cute look! Blue and pink are so pretty together!

  9. you know, I live next to a railroad! about thousand (okay, maybe 20 but still) trains pass by every single day and it simply doesn't bother me. before I and E. moved to our own place I also used to live next to the railroad, so it's probably a natural thing, hehe.
you look great btw! it's such a gorgeous choice of colours and I love those sunnies - wonderful shape!

  11. HAH! Love the post. Congrats on moving into the new house! Walkie talkies sound like a must :) But also, the construction totally sucks. I used to live beside the 417 and it was SO noisy. Ugh. I'm bad at dealing with it. If you have a fan it helps a little, but in the winter I doubt you'll want a fan.

  15. walkie talkies now...baby monitor someday?!? Love the outfit...have been living the noisy environment during a monhth-long french immersion course living in a university dorm. Ear plugs and the mantra "this will be over soon" got me through it. love, mater. xox

One of my daily joys is reading the lovely comments you leave. It may take a day or two (or three, depending on how hectic life gets!) but I will stop by your slice of the blogosphere soon! xo Emily
