Cropped Pants, Ring, Bracelets & Shoes- Thrifted; Tunic- Spoof (Toronto)
I fell in love with the pattern of these Talbot brand cropped pants at my local thrift store but I wasn't sold on the awkward length or baggy legs. So snip, snip went the scissors for an easy fix, goodbye clown pants and hello summery shorts! Sure, the hemline is now uneven and they're fraying slighly but I think it's a definite improvement! (If I ever get around to learning how to sew, I will cuff the bottom for a more finished look). |

My week of (thrifted) botanical bottoms is now over (see day 1, 2 & 3 -which pair was your favourite?) and I hope you're feeling inspired to inject some floral fun into your wardrobe! Have a wonderful weekend everyone- it's a three day weekend up North as we celebrate Canada's 145th Birthday!

Very impressive--I love how they turned out! I've been loving your week of printed pants! I might just have to hunt myself down a pair :)
ReplyDeleteOoh they turned out great! They make awesome shorts! Love those heels!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your long weekend, I took off Monday and Tuesday leading up to our Independence Day on Wednesday, so I get a five dayer! I'm looking forward to a break!
Great idea. Love them as shorts. Go DIY!

yes, they are a definitive improvement! now they show off, instead of hiding your legs. i imagine they are better for summer too. i like how you mixed the floral with the lace. :) emily, have a terrific weekend celebration.
ReplyDeleteWee hee! Happy long weekend!
ReplyDeleteNice job on the shorts! I love that you have a good eye for thrifting things and then making them over. It's always so hard for me to see past what it is on rack.
ReplyDeleteI love them as short. Happy Canada Day to you.
ReplyDeleteOMG I love them as short - I thought they weren't too bad as pants, but then I saw your transformation - WOW! Absolutely stunning!
ReplyDeletehappy b'day to Canada then! :P
ReplyDeleteand good job, Emily! you've definitely done the right thing with those pants. and I'm still on a hunt for a pair of floral pants. I have shorts but no pants.. maybe I'll have some luck today while thrifting..

I love these as shorts. I might do that for my seersucker crops.
ReplyDeletehave a fantastic weekend!

Great transformation. You salvaged the best part of the pants and jettisoned what didn't work. Good job.
ReplyDeleteThat was a great little fix. I've hemmed curtains without sewing. I think it's called liquid hem. It's a strip that turns into a sticky goo that binds fabric when you iron it. Maybe that would work for the shorts?

Great choice on turning those pants into shorts,
ReplyDeleteI also love how you played up the floral pattern completely differently both times you wore it!
