secondary colours

Skirt- Zara (Thrifted); Tee- Smart Set; Shoes, Purse, Brooch, Belt, Scarf , Bracelets & Shoes- Thrifted

Growing up as the daughter of an artist, creativity was all around me.  Whenever we travelled as a family, art galleries and museums were our fist stops and our garage was converted into an art studio where my Mum and I taught children's art classes together.  I'm not as skilled at painting or drawing as many of my relatives (or maybe I'm just too impatient), but I still love visiting art galleries and greatly appreciate the fine arts.  Today I'm channeling my inner Jackson Pollock with a plethora of bright secondary colours & abstract shapes.

Nail Polish (from light to dark:) Lily by Revlon; Violet Frost by Sally Hansen; Aloha Luau by Island Girl; Bandeau by Urban Outfitters & No Shrinking Violet by Revlon

{I treated my nails like a blank canvas to try out the ombre effect (they're all painted varying shades of purple, from pale lilac to deep violet)}

{No this isn`t some bizarre `come hither` pose, this is my 8a.m., sleepy, no makeup face. Why? Because we like to keep it real here at Tinfoil Tiaras!}
{Yes these are bright green shoes with a lightning bolt- enough said!}
In November I posted about Woman Abuse Prevention Month and the importance of working in solidarity to end violence against women.  May is the go purple campaign which encourages dialogue and mobilization to `help break the silence, break the cycle, save lives.`

  2. I really love this mix of jewel tones - it's just too pretty! So rich and perfect for spring. I am impressed that skirt was a thrifting find. Definitely one of those rare gems. The purple pallet was the perfect inspiration for your nails. Beautiful outfit! You look to fresh and put-together - as always :)

  3. I like these colours together. I think the ombre nails are a success - to bad they're so much more work than the hair eh? ;) BTW, the picture quality is fantastic! Thanks for pointing out the lightning bolt detail - so random yet fun!

  7. no wonder you are so good with colors and prints, you came from a family of creative people. I like the color combo of your outfit. The purple scarf looks gorgeous with the matching printed skirt. And the lightning blot on your shoes is so cute. And your nail colors are ultra adorable. Great campaign!

  14. I used to work in an art gallery, but I'm not artistic in the traditional sense. I did the gallery's marketing, which mostly involved mailing postcards.

    I'm in love with your lightning bolt shoes!

One of my daily joys is reading the lovely comments you leave. It may take a day or two (or three, depending on how hectic life gets!) but I will stop by your slice of the blogosphere soon! xo Emily
