rainy day helper

Trench, Trousers, Shoes, Scarf, Belt & Bracelets- Thrifted; Top- Dynamite; Ring- Zellers; Purse- Aldo; Nail Polish- Crazy for Coral by Revlon
Today is the perfect day for a nautical inspired challenge, it's raining outside and this outfit makes me want to jump on the nearest boat and sail away to warmer lands.  Since that's not a financially feasible plan, I'll settle for looking like a satorial sailor instead.
Speaking of rain, my love for all living creatures (including insects), started when I was a toddler and my Mum used to bring me, my sister and the home daycare children outside after a rain shower for some dirty work.  We would save the worms who had lost their home due to the flooding; pick them up (with keys if you were a wimp or bare hands if you're a go getter like me!); dig a hole and place them next to their new and improved dirt dwelling.  To this day, when no one is looking (because helping worms is cute if you're a kid, eccentric when you're an adult), I save my squirmy friends from being squashed and meeting their worm maker sooner than they should!

  4. Haha Em! I still do it too, it was dark at Acadia and I was helping a worm and a guy walked by me and said "I do that too", so clearly we are soulmates but I don't know who he is :( Haha love your outfit though, you look great!
keep on saving the insect world one bug at a time!

  8. Take me with you! Let's sail away to a magical land with no sales tax, free shipping and handling, and clearances as far as the eye can see!

Your first mate is adorable. :) I never picked up worms, but I'm always careful to avoid stepping on them.

  11. This is a super cute outfit! I love your shoes and your bag! Too funny about the worms. I will bait my own hook if I go fishing (thus killing your little friends, sorry!) but I don't really like touching worms that appear after it has rained. Though I won't step on them if I see them, cause I know they do good things for the earth!

  13. I love your sailor inspired look! Those pants are super awesome.
P.S. I also save marooned worms when I see them on the side walk or drowning in a puddle after a rain. I don't care who is watching ;)
