No this is not me trying to be saucy or sassy, this is my mirror face.
Mirror face: {Urban Dictionary.com}
When someone looks completely different in the mirror than they do in person. Thus, their reflection is the mirror face. When standing in front of the mirror, a mirror face can look almost completely different and unrecognizable to a friend but completely normal to oneself. (e.g. when Vinny looked into the mirror, his right eye looked substantially smaller than his left eye. As a result, when his girlfriend saw the reflection she became aware of his mirror face and believed it to be quite different from the way she normally sees him.)
My left eyebrow raises and my lips become pouty almost like I'm giving someone attitude, this is without fail what I look like everytime I peer into a mirror. Now if only I could replicate this face when taking outfit photos (I even suggested to my man that he hold a mirror beside the camera so that I can perfect my pout-he wasn't up for the idea...)
Do you have a mirror face? If so, what is it?
Omg! I didn't know that :O That is a bit freaky,no ? I'm going to stare at myself in the mirror and see whats different! :O
ReplyDeleteYou look gorgeous, the pout is so perfect :D

Thanks for visiting my blog! I'm glad you liked the song. Nightwish is my favorite band EVER! If you liked that song, I think you might also like their song "Ever Dream." Very romantic :)
ReplyDeleteNot sure if I have a general mirror face, but I definitely look goofy when I'm putting on my mascara. Mouth agape, eyes huge...yep, really attractive.

AHH! Now I am going to wonder about my mirror face. That story is really crazy, but true. My husbands nose is actually REALLY slanted and I didn't notice it until like last year....after almost 5 years of being together! I always knew it was crooked but not that much! Super funny! I love his nose!
ReplyDeleteLove your mirror face! Is that your bathroom?..great wallpaper.

HAHAHAHA! love it! my eyebrow does the exact same thing! I wonder if a mirror face is the same as the face you make when you hold the point and shoot yourself and outstretch your arm to take a self-portrait...
ReplyDeleteYou are definitely rocking your mirror face! I don't know if I have one or not...maybe a tad more serious looking? I don't know...anyway, I don't know what happened with my followers gadget, but I'm guessing my blogspot blog was deleted since it's not showing up anymore on my dashboard. So all my followers would have went with it, I guess. Thanks for following again! Debbie http://thriftygirlvintage.com
ReplyDeleteHAHA, so true we all have our inner diva mirror faces! I always pout my lips, even though they're quite small and pretend I'm Angelina Jolie.
ReplyDeleteThis is so clever! I definitely have a mirror face too... Maybe I'll try and snap a pic of it!
ReplyDeleteI've never thought about this before - how cool, I'm totally going to waste a ton of time staring in the mirror now....

Love it! I can imagine your boyfriend juggling the camera and mirror. Some of my better pictures are when I look into one. But of course those are head shots. LOL :D

That's funny! It's a lot like my make-up face, which I think is a similar phenomenon.
ReplyDeleteThat's hilarious, I never thought about "mirror face". By the way, the wallpaper behind you is fabulous! If that's in your home, I'm jealous!
ReplyDeleteLOL!! This is great! I so do have a mirror face--although I didn't realize that's what it was going on. Just tonight I peered at my face in the mirror and thought I should snap a pic of my smoky eye look...the picture looked NOTHING like the mirror reflection. Now I must figure out exactly what it is about my mirror face that I don't replicate in a photograph! Very enlightening post:-))
ReplyDeleteYour mirror face is gorgeous, Emily! haha. Apparently, (according to my husband) I have a duck-face mirror face, coupled with a peace sign. WHAT?

I purposely make a face when I see myself in the mirror at first. I tend to be very critical of my reflection, so if I do something to lighten the mood, the "regular face" always looks better after that!
ReplyDeleteVery true. My face is asymmetrical and looks different in person v. in a mirror v. in a photo. Fortunately, I've come to peace with this, realizing I have no choice.
ReplyDeleteAsymmetry makes for countless angles, both beautiful and bizarre.
ReplyDeleteI think I get pouty too! This term is new-to-me; thanks for sharing. I once took pictures in a room with a big window at night and used my reflection to check my poses...oh the vanity!
ReplyDeleteHaha, I'm not sure if i have mirror face, but i love this shot, the frame on the mirror and the wall paper are so cool!

I don't like my mirror face because it looks unbalanced, not sure why. I like this shot of you in the mirror, looks kinda whimsical and surreal.

Mmmhhh... food for thought... I guess I have a mirror face, like, mmmhhh... radiant? (Don't know how to define it... will take a look soon, when putting some makeup)... but I like the pictures as well... so, can a person have a mirror AND a picture face, plus a face that others perceive?
ReplyDeleteYou've got me thinking... :)
Haha mirror face, I've never heard of this expression before! The pic is great, and I love that wall paper!
ReplyDeleteYou are absolutely RIGHT!
ReplyDeleteI wonder how I look really to other people. lol
I love the wallpaper behind you.
Mmm, sassy! And I like your wallpaper, too. I didn't know mirror faces even existed. I'm going to have to investigate this for my own knowledge now...
