Jeans, Shoes, Belt & Bracelets- Thrifted; Top- Spoof (Boutique in Toronto); Nail Polish- Vintage by Rimmel |
It's the time of the week again- Inspiration Monday over at
two birds! Today we're channeling the ever-chic Rachel Bilson who manages to make a simple blouse and jeans look like the height of fashion! My man will attest to the fact that I don't wear jeans often, in fact whenever I do his eyes light up as to him, jeans, a tee and sneakers are the sexiest attire a woman can wear (unless I'm lounging on the couch, I won't go that grunge!) I did however grab this pair of slightly flared jeans from the back of my closet to pair with this white flowy blouse and simple accessories. I liked the end result so much (worn this weekend to see the movie "Contagion"- a must watch!); that I've decided this will be my outfit for my *first day of school tomorrow!
And now for my 1 year blog-versary giveaway winner. My man helped me create an Excel spreadsheet (I may be a Masters student now but I'm still technologically challenged!) of names written in entry order. I then used random.org to randomize the entries and here is a sample screenshot, highlighting the winner...
Lei of the White Sky Project! Congratulations and thanks to everyone for entering and celebrating my blog's 1 year anniversary!

Great job on the inspiration outfit--you thifted almost everything? Wow! I especially like the wrist full of bracelets. They're all so different, but they look nice piled on top of each other.
ReplyDeleteGood luck at class tomorrow!
I think this is a lovely outfit. It's a wonderful mix of casual - from the denim - with a sophisticated vibe - from the top. I also love how you added the belt to the white top. It's a great touch! I love Rachel Bilson and her personal style. I think you did a lovely job of taking her look as inspiration and making it entirely your own!

This top is adorable on you! Love the arm party as well. I know that I am dressing for myself and not for other people. But it's always nice to get an unprovoked compliment from your 'man'. ;)

ReplyDeletewow...you look amazing! i am in love with that shirt. and you should wear jeans more often because they look great on you!
ReplyDeleteYou look amaaaazing! I simply loved the blouse and what to say about the bracelets? Pure inspiration for me, I'll try to re-create your style by selecting some (bracelets) to wear soon - I really loved the way you wore them!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment on my blog, you are really sweet!
I liked your blouse better than the one RB wore!
By the way, good luck! Yes to Masters, but you will now face at least 2 years of research eeeeveryday and I hope your supervisor is nice. Mine was moody. I had a very hard time, but finished it. It sounds like years ago, but it was in April this year. Can you believe I'm recovering from that? (I was traumatized by the nasty way.) But with a nice supervisor, I guess it's nice!
I love your flowing top! White with denim is a favorite of mine. Thanks for making me feel like a celebrity with your comment! And thanks for your kind words about my mom. We are looking forward to her being pain free and more mobile again. Debbie http://thriftygirlvintage.com
ReplyDeleteI love how you styled that flowy top. It's so cute and it really dresses up those jeans.
ReplyDeleteSo, you asked me how many pairs of jeans I own. It made me wonder too, so I counted them. I own 19 pairs!!!!!!! I'm so embarrassed. haha.

Tracy
Good luck with school! I was nervous starting my Masters too but it turned out just to be more of the same old school stuff, no need to be nervous.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love your take on the Rachel Bilson look! The soft shape and pleats on the blouse are so pretty, and I love the contrast of the belt. And I saw Contagion this weekend too--great movie!
