shoes & didgeridoos

Last week I was invited to two very fashionable events supporting Canadian talent.  The first, a launch of designer Ron White's shoe collection for Holt Renfrew.  The second, a vernissage at a new art gallery & tattoo shop in my neighbourhood. I invited my curly haired better half to join me and we made a Thursday date night of shoes & didgeridoos!

Dress- Peter Pilotto for Target; Shrug-Vintage; Clutch- Swapped; Belt- United Colors of Benetton; Bracelets & Shoes- Thrifted; Necklace- The Dunes PEI

The thing I love most about Ron White's shoes is that they're designed for both functionality & fashion, meaning they're comfortable and chic!
This shoe's iridescent quality reminds me of something a mermaid would wear, so whimsical.

It looks like a killer, but Ron White created the world's first All Day Heels technology using NASA Poron!

With beauty guru & perfume whisperer Jane of Daly Beauty.

The first lady, Laureen Harper is a fashionable supporter of Ron White's impeccable designs.

With the lovely Deb McCain (how fab is her coral suit!)
My tootsies are sample size so I tried on a pair of Rob White's heels for fun.  They're like a stylish pillow for your feet, I gave an audible sigh of delight when slipping them on.
An animated conversation about shoes (what else!) with the one and only Ron White.

The first lady knows how to strut her stuff in Ron White!

Champagne & heels, does it get any better?

The adorable shoe cookie gifts (which were Oreos dipped in chocolate, yum!)

After oo'ing and aah'ing over gorgeous heels that I hope to one day be able to afford, we headed to an entirely different creative scene crawling with artists and musicians.
With Ben, my future tattoo artist for a piece I am getting later this year at the Railbender Tattoo Studio.

Celebrating Mat Dube's vernissage.

The ethnic melodies of the Didgeridoo (played by none other than artist Mat Dube himself!)

What is your idea of a fun date night?

One of my daily joys is reading the lovely comments you leave. It may take a day or two (or three, depending on how hectic life gets!) but I will stop by your slice of the blogosphere soon! xo Emily
