birthday blacks

Top- Gifted; Skirt & Rings- Thrifted; Necklace- Sears; Shoes- Max's Shoe Repair

Just yesterday I was an advocate extraordinaire for colour and in today's post I'm sporting a lot of black (just goes to show you how fluid fashion is!) It was my man's birthday recently and as a doting girlfriend, I made sure we celebrated in style (including a romantic chef's tasting at our favourite restaurant; Indian dinner with his friends & we will be taking a vegan BBQ cooking class next week).  Here are two outfits I wore to wish him a bonne fĂȘte! (looking at these pictures makes me miss my spray tanning addiction of last summer!)

Jumpsuit, Bracelet & Belt- Thrifted; Shoes & Earrings- Consigned; Clutch- Vintage

Although then again, looking at this last photo I don't look quite so much like the underbelly of a fish (my Mum's phrase for being pale).  So maybe instead of spraying myself with chemicals, I just need to time my outfit photos based on the position of the sun to create the illusion of darker skin (us fashion bloggers are so strategic aren't we!)

  1. I am so jealous of your ability to pull off a jumpsuit so well - I could so never do that! I love both these outfits, you look uber sophisticated.

  2. Both outfits are very elegant and sophisticated! I love the necklace in the first one and the clutch in the second one. And a cooking class sounds like so much fun, I love doing activities like that with my hubby too, I always think the gift of time together is so much more valuable than a new "thing" you know?

And yeah, let's not talk about how pale my skin is. I just live with it, lol.

  6. jumpsuits are definitely not my thing (and therefore I own zero of those :P). others can of course look great while wearing one.
but I really like the first look with that beautiful floral top. those flowers are just gorgeous! and I like your accessories, all of them!

One of my daily joys is reading the lovely comments you leave. It may take a day or two (or three, depending on how hectic life gets!) but I will stop by your slice of the blogosphere soon! xo Emily
