pictures last a lifetime

They say memories last a lifetime but those of us lacking in the memory department will have to make do with photos.  And I took enough pictures over my two week vacation to create decades of scrapbooks! I've narrowed it down to my favourites, the ones that truly captured my time spent in Hawaii, the most breathtaking and visually stunning place I have ever visited.

The JW Marriott Ihilali Resort where we spent a heavenly week in Ko Olina, Oahu

"Eat Pray Love", a rum drenched Mai Tai and my new favourite breezy top from Chicshop= an afternoon of bliss

As a self proclaimed chocoholic, I would almost give up cocoa for daily fresh mango

Coming from a cold climate there's just something about palm trees that makes me say "ahhh"

Driving from coast to coast of Oahu in our rented red Mustang

One more thing to cross off my bucket list

After a leisurely hike we stumbled across this beautiful waterfall and immediately dove in, even attempting the Hollywood waterfall kiss (not as easy as it looks!)

Bring me a piece of deep fried cardboard and I'll eat it!

And you know we couldn't stop by Honolulu without visiting Dog the Bounty Hunter's shop!

As an animal lover I was enthralled by this tiny newt who stopped by to say hello as I devoured my tacos

Even fish are scared of the menacing Hawaiian waves

At a Hawaiian Luau with a traditional warrior- I may or may not be blushing...

My man was all smiles as we explored the coasts and discovered hidden local gems

Our new friend and Hawaiian protein pill salesman, Samson wouldn't let us leave "his" beach before taking this photo

The spinner and bottlenose dolphins playfully trailed our sailboat

After a day spent swimming and exploring we were tired by dinnertime

My heels never saw the light of day in Hawaii, giving my poor feet a much needed break

Mahalo to all my beautiful readers and thank you for following along on my picturesque journey through Hawaii.  For more pictures visit my Flikr page.

  1. Good grief, I swish I could look as styled as you when on vacation! I can't imagine how big your suitcase must have been!

I read "Eat Pray Love" once a year. It makes me refocus on what's important in my life. I have a bucket list too--it's essential.

  17. What a great set of memories, and you looked fabulous throughout! I love the shot taken through the window of the Mustang. You know what else is hard by a waterfall? The 'hair flip' from that shampoo commercial! Our tour guide in Australia had us try it, cameras at the ready.

One of my daily joys is reading the lovely comments you leave. It may take a day or two (or three, depending on how hectic life gets!) but I will stop by your slice of the blogosphere soon! xo Emily
