candy striper

Dress- Anthropologie (remixed like this); Belt & Clutch- Thrifted; Earrings- Aldo; Shoes- Pierre Dumas

When I was younger I dreamt of being a candy striper. Wearing the cute red & white striped uniform while helping patients in the hospital seemed like the perfect fit for me.  So in High School I applied for a voluntary candy striper position at my local hospital.  I even remember asking in the interview if I would get to wear the uniform.  Unfortunately the answer was no, I guess these sexed up nurse outfits had been made redundant decades ago (although having someone who looked like this tend to my bedside would probably make me feel better in a heartbeat!)
This is my Super Candy Striper Pose.  Even though I couldn't wear the cute uniform, I still loved my voluntary position in the hospital, especially working with Alzheimer patients (my Nana had dementia so it is an illness that is near and dear to me).
I feel like a whirling dervish!
Ok, ok I got another spray on tan (I think I'm addicted- although it does fade drastically after your first shower)
This is what I would wear as an adult candy stripper I mean striper :)

  2. I adore this dress. The varying lines and colours keep the eyes moving and the cut is so sophisticated. You look like you could be out shopping in the Hamptons! I thought the term was candy stripper for the longest time - good thing I didn't apply for THAT job. - Kat

  14. I wanted to be a candy striper, too -- just for the outfits. They are so cute!!! I would totally sex up the outfit, though, and probably get kicked out and never invited back because I look like a slutball ... blahblahblah. Lame. This outfit is absolutely ahhhhh-dorable. I love it!

  15. I never understood the title Candy Striper. I guess it matched the outfit but what did that have to do with volunteering in a hospital? Eh. I'm sure you were a FABULOUS candy striper though! :)

This dress looks lovely on you! I love the colors in it and the twirl is so fun!

  17. That dress is gorgeous on you. And your tan is pretty great too. I can't find a tanner that works. i tried the booth that sprays the tan on you, but after I ate half of the shot that sprays the front, I never went back. So gross.

    You are gorgeous.

  18. You look really good with the spray tan. At first I was like how did you get so tan! The dress is so cute, and that volunteer position sounds like it would teach someone a lot.
